Renowned for over 800 years, Uji's unique climate and soil conditions produce matcha celebrated for its vibrant color, smooth texture, and rich umami flavor.
Harvested with Precision
Our matcha is crafted from the first harvest (Ichibancha) in early May, selecting only the youngest, most tender leaves. These leaves are shaded for 20–30 days prior to harvesting, a traditional method that enhances chlorophyll and amino acid content, resulting in a sweeter, less bitter taste.
Traditional Processing
Post-harvest, the leaves undergo steaming to preserve their vibrant green hue and nutritional integrity. They are then dried, de-stemmed, and stone-ground into a fine powder, ensuring a smooth, clump-free texture ideal for traditional tea ceremonies.
Flavor Profile
This matcha offers a delicate balance of natural sweetness and umami, with a silky mouthfeel and a subtle, lingering finish. Its bright green color and refined taste make it perfect for both Usucha (thin tea) and Koicha (thick tea) preparations.
Usage Suggestions

Usucha (Thin Tea): 1 teaspoon of matcha with 70 ml of water at 80°C, whisked until frothy.

Koicha (Thick Tea): 2 teaspoons of matcha with 50 ml of water at 80°C, whisked to a smooth consistency.
Storage Instructions
To maintain freshness, store the tin in a cool, dark place. For extended shelf life, refrigeration is recommended.
